WhatsApp calling feature now open for everyone

Today I opened my WhatsApp and noticed the change in UI. I then realised that my voice calling functionality enabled which i tried to activate several times before. I wondered how this functionality got enabled without any invite and i read the news in Android Community that WhatsApp calling feature is now open for everyone who has an updated version.Coming to the voice calling feature the sound quality is better but there is a noticeable timelag in voice transmitted which feels bit annoying.Hike also released its voice calling feature which i think a bit good in terms of lag in voice transmission. But the voice quality in both whatsapp and hike are pretty good.So update the WhatsApp and enjoy the officialy released calling feature.

Meizu Enters Indian Market

Xiaomi's chinese rival Meizu enters Indian market by launching its first phablet model named Meizu M1 Note. This features a 1080p display and powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 64 bit processor and 2GB RAM, the phone is available in 16GB and 32GB storage variants. It doesn't feature a microSD card and has a massive 3140mAh battery. This phone features a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front facing camera. It runs Flyme OS based on Android 4.4 kitkat. The design of the M1 note looks like a blown up iPhone 5c.This phone will be approximately be sold around 10,000 Rs,while the specification and price range looks exactly like Micromax Yu Yureka this will be a huge competition to Xiaomi Mi 3,and Yu Yureka.India being one of the biggest growing market for mobiles especially low-budget Android phones, several companies (apart from chinese manufacturer) are interested in selling their low budget mobile in India.Meizu also sensed this and it wont be easy for Meizu to gain the market because its rival Xiaomi is doing well in India and also it has to compete with local manufacturers such as Micromax,Karbonn,Lava and chinese manufacturers such as Oppo,Xolo etc.Lets see whether Meizu creates a impact like Xiaomi or not.

What is USB Type-C and how it makes impact in Macbook and Chromebook.

USB Type-C,the latest USB standard came to the spotlight after been introduced in latest Macbook with retina display and Chromebook pixel,so what is USB Type-C. It is an another standard like USB 3.0,USB 2.0 so what makes this USB Special. Lets see.

  • It is Reversible:Yes. You can plug the dongles even upside down.It is reversible like Apple lightning charger(thanks to its circular design). So there will be no frustration in plugging the dongles in to the ports.
  • It may be also be used as a charging port:Yes.It is like the Micro USB port we use in the mobiles. It can be used as a primary USB port and also as a charging port.It can charge faster upto 100 watts.
  • It may also Used as a Display Port:This type of ports support Outputs such as VGA,HDMI even 4K displays such as Monitor,Tv's and many things.
  • Backward Compatible:Like all USB standards this is backward compatible with USB 3.0 and below.
  • Its Fast:The new standard USB can transfer data upto a speed of 10gbps which is two times faster than USB 3.0
Even though USB-C ports have several advantages, the major disadvantage of Macbook is that they have only one USB-C port on its left side. While the Chromebook pixel have two USB-C port on either sides which makes it easier to charge and transfer data simultaneously.Apart from that they also have two USB 3.0 ports and a sd card port which makes life more easier without dongles. So more than one USB-C port is always advantageous.I don't know why Apple settled with just one port and thought of providing dongles which we need to carry with us every time to connect more than one devices. Macbook and Chromebook are the  two devices currently to employ USB Type-C soon we may able to see many laptops powered by USB-C standard.Google in their Chromebook Promo video said that it may also could be employed in Android phones in near future. So we could also expect mobile phones powered by USB Type-C which provides faster charging and data transfer speeds.
